Description
The German railway operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) will expand its workforce by 5,000 new positions. DB is mainly looking for new train operators, dispatchers, railway maintenance staff and IT-specialists. In total, the company plans to hire 25,000 new employees in 2020, as it accounts for employee fluctuation due to retirement and other reasons. Around 4,700 of the roles are for apprentices and trainees.
In 2019, DB hired 24,000 new employees and increased its overall workforce by 8,000 employees.
