Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The German railway operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) will expand its workforce by 5,000 new positions. DB is mainly looking for new train operators, dispatchers, railway maintenance staff and IT-specialists. In total, the company plans to hire 25,000 new employees in 2020, as it accounts for employee fluctuation due to retirement and other reasons. Around 4,700 of the roles are for apprentices and trainees.
In 2019, DB hired 24,000 new employees and increased its overall workforce by 8,000 employees.
