Description
The hotel chain company Meliá has dismissed 230 employees last week in different regions of Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, Alicante, Sevilla, Málaga, Tenerife and Lanzarote), preparing also a set of o temporary layoff plans. The reason behind these measures is the sudden decline of clients in the sector due to the COVID-19 crisis. Trade unions announced future protests in the affected locations, although current measures to contain conoravirus contagion restrict the organisation of public and private events.
